PLAYER

NAME: seiko

OVER 18? yes
CURRENT CHARACTER: Tartaglia (Childe)

CHARACTER

NAME: Kotetsu T. Kaburagi
CANON: Tiger & Bunny
CANON POINT: Tiger&Bunny: the Rising (between seasons 1 and 2 of the anime).
AGE: 37
SPECIES: NEXT (human with superhuman powers)
INFORMATION: Tiger&Bunny Fandom Wiki.

CHARACTER PITCH: Superman Himbo DILF with a kid and a dead wife that is forced into a rocky partnership with a young, openly troubled man that is basically a superior version model of himself in terms of strength and capabilities. Although once a top Hero himself, he's past his prime but isn't ready to quit yet. Extremely oblivious of others' feelings and can be crass, but always means well and has a big heart. Gets along with most people, but often fakes his own happiness to not have others worry for him. He has strong sorrow and guilt over the loss of his wife, not being there when she passed away from illness in the hospital due to being called on to apprehend criminals. Also wants his daughter to think he's cool more than anything else, but isn't seen as cool at all. Kotetsu is the epitome of witnessing the life lesson to never ever give up on yourself or others, no matter how bad things may be.

POWERS:
NEXT Power-type Ability: Hundred Power. He has the same exact NEXT power as his partner, Barnaby. It temporarily increases his strength, speed, endurance, tolerance/durability, senses, etc. to superhuman levels (specially 100x that of a human.)

While his powers once lasted five minutes at the start of the series, by midway through Season 1 he starts to experience a rare but documented phenomenon of his powers lasting shorter and shorter periods of time. By the canon point, he's being taken from, this ability only lasts one minute. It requires one hour to recharge.

He can apply it to unusual or otherwise mundane situations that are not PvP. Examples include using his enhanced hearing to locate missing people at far distances and even being able to slightly heal himself 100 times faster than normal (limited capability, 100x healing rate of humans isn't anything to write home about. At best, I'm thinking he might be potentially able to save himself from bleeding if severely injured and left for dead via accelerated coagulation, but that's a big maybe that's dependent on the wound because his powers are one minute now. It would have to be a very specific situation for it to work in his favor.)

Kotetsu's signature move is called wild roar and allows him to use a burst of energy around himself in a small radius.

Other than this, he's a well-built man that has impressive core upper body strength is actually a great fighter when not screwing himself over/clutzing his way through in various ways. Skilled in CQC combat. He's also shown to be skilled in using grappling hooks both to maneuver himself and as a supplemental weapon.

QUESTIONNAIRE

What is the worst or most malicious thing your character has ever done? How do they feel about it now? Was this sort of action typical of them?

He has a bad habit of being a hypocrite when it comes to wanting others to be open and honest with him so he can do everything to help them, while he hides everything about his own problems away from the same people because he doesn't want them to worry about him. It often causes problems, but Kotetsu can't seem to realize this and persists in using this coping mechanism despite learning several times it's not the way to go. In Aion, he'll rely on it particularly heavily when he finds out what's happened to Barnaby.

For the specific "worst" thing he's ever done I'd say is the following:

Although it wasn't intentional, during a specific incident his lack of caution/care/proper agency while being too trusting of others for evidence against them to easily come together as a Red Flag, Kotetsu indirectly causes the death of an elderly woman. He regrets what happened to her once he finds out what's going on, but it's unlikely he actually learned his lesson in being more guarded and less trusting when his gut says something feels off.

I'm hoping he'll be able to learn to be more sensitive and aware of situations that he would normally be oblivious and downright stupid over. He doesn't have a single malicious bone in his body, but this is a type of behavior he exhibits often (it just usually doesn't have such extreme consequences as the specific situation mentioned.)

What is the most altruistic or selfless thing your character has ever done? How do they feel about it now? Was this sort of action typical of them?

The most altruistic thing he's done is during a fight with an extremely powerful android that was, overpowering both him and his partner all the while his friends and daughter were being held hostage. In order to make sure they didn't lose so they could save the others, Kotetsu held the Android back while demanding Barnaby shoot it with its own high-powered gun. Although he claims he'll get out of the way in time to avoid the blast, he knows it will be impossible when his powers barely last three minutes but goes through with the plan anyway. It seems that he dies as a result but actually ends up surviving and only appeared dead and had simply passed out. Nevertheless, he didn't believe he was going to make it at the time of committing to the action.

Considering he saved his partner, his friend, his daughter, and the city by doing this, he doesn't regret it. For better or for worse, he wouldn't hesitate to do it again if it became the only way for "good" to overcome "bad." While Kotetsu puts everyone before himself, he is still well aware he has to survive if he wants to protect others. So while it isn't something unusual in theory that he would do, it would have to be an extremely life or death situation for the Pleroma group as a whole.

What do they desire above all else? How far would they go to accomplish their goals or fulfill those desires? Do they have lines they wouldn't cross?

Generally, Kotetsu's greatest desire is to be able to protect everyone he cares about and all the innocent people who cannot fend for themselves. He considers himself a real hero, and he stands by his definition of a hero: protecting the city and the people from danger. It would be no different in Horos.

However, Kotetsu isn't capable of killing anyone. He strongly believes criminals need to be arrested and not be allowed to roam free, but not in taking their life for their crimes. Because of the nature of Aion, he will begrudgingly accept the idea of having to dissipate aions, but in the beginning will absolutely not cross that line even at the expense of his own life. He will never be able to crush another aion's shard (on purpose) and would actively defend an enemy's shard from being crushed by a fellow Pleroma to the best of his ability believing that it allows the Kenoma the ultimate advantage in this war because of what the Kenoma embodies.

His beliefs are his most powerful weapons, and he will not let the Kenoma or Pleroma influences force him to alter his ideals for their benefit.

GAME DETAILS

LEGACY: Champion.
As a person who strives every day to be a hero back home both visually in his actions and deeds as well as mentally through his compassion and loyalty to his friends, and family. His single greatest desire to protect everyone makes him a perfect fit for this legacy, as "saving people" is always the first thing on his mind when trouble starts.
INTRODUCTORY SECT: Pleroma.
His extremely strong morals about the true value of life even when things aren't perfect or ideal will make it very easy for Kotetsu to go along with the Pleroma itself and be soothed by its presence. No matter what, until he's no more, he'll continue to do whatever he can do as a hero, an aion, and most of all, as the individual simply known as Kotetsu T. Kaburagi.
SUITABILITY:

The very concept of being brought to Horos and his world being gone will throw him for a loop, but he is, for all intents and purposes, the ideal Pleroma. This isn't because the Pleroma is "good" or that the Kenoma is "bad," it has solely to do instead with his dogged personality to continue on no matter what. Even when things are shit, even when they look impossible, you have to keep going. I feel he will resonate with the Pleroma force particularly well because he won't get hung up on the Pleroma needing to be "good" if there is some kind of plot twist in the future without having to use the simpler excuse of "kenoma's simply not an option." By then, he'll understand that the Pleroma is exactly how he lives every day and displays both the positive and negative traits of this.

Particularly, he will eventually come to see the Regent as the manifestation that he never wants to become. I don't believe it will be about thinking the Regent is evil/a criminal for this, either, but moreso that he will realize that any person could become what the Regent is (not in terms of power, but in terms of character.)

Due to in-game circumstances, Kotetsu already has something lined out for him that must be done. His conviction to protect (save?) his partner, Barnaby, once he realizes the other is in Horos will be another immediate motivator. No one will be able to convince him that Barnaby is lost to him as a Kenoma, and he will save his partner, come hell or high water. What his partner does will never be enough to make him turn away from the other, and he will be strongly critical of any Pleroma that simply views the Kenoma aions as simply evil and need to be disposed of.

As far as what I hope to do with Kotetsu in general, I really am hoping to have him be, if nothing else, unrelenting support to the Pleroma when they are feeling the heavy weight of uncertainty.

I'm hoping that his time in AT will harden him more like a war veteran of sorts without having to change the core of his character (in terms of being stupid, ridiculous, and comedic because that's part of what makes the series and Kotetsu so endearing), and maybe even in time come to understand that there are times when he'll really truly have no choice but to do things such as kill to protect everyone he wants—

—but that doesn't mean he can't still hold his head high.
